A strategic redefinition of how a school presents itself
West Kirby Grammar School wanted to go beyond a simple website refresh and take a more considered look at how they presented themselves as a school. With a renewed focus on their vision and values, the aim was to define a clear, cohesive identity that reflected who they are and what they stand for.
I worked with the school to help shape an identity that could be expressed consistently across digital, print and physical environments, and resonate with pupils, parents and prospective families alike.
Challenge
While the school had a strong ethos, this wasn’t always clearly reflected across its communications. Messaging felt fragmented, and key audiences were interacting with the school through disconnected touchpoints.
The challenge was to bring clarity and confidence to how the school communicated its values, while creating a brand that felt authentic, aspirational and true to the community it represents.
Approach
I began by working closely with the leadership team to understand what makes the school distinctive. From these conversations, a clear strategic idea emerged - centred around choice and the belief in empowering students to shape their own futures.
This idea informed the development of a refreshed visual and verbal identity, supported by authentic photography captured on site with pupils and staff. The school’s digital presence was redesigned to feel clear, welcoming and easy to navigate, while supporting materials were aligned to ensure a consistent experience across every interaction.
The result is a confident, cohesive identity that helps the school communicate who they are with clarity, warmth and purpose - now and into the future.
